Water Treatment Kits
for Cleaning the cooling circuits and replacing the cooling water of Trumpf® laser systems
Recommended for cleaning once a year. The water must be replaced after the process.
Prior to process check the interiors of the tank, if it is contaminated, then the cooling water must be drained off and the tanks must be cleaned. Afterwards, refill the tanks with demineralized water (at least 65%) before starting the process.
Process Steps:
- Pour the cleaning biocide into the used water in the tank.
- Perform the cleaning cycle for 2 hours. Production can continue while doing cleaning.
- Drain off all the water.
- Immediately after drain, flush with complete circuit with the demineralized water. Keep on doing so until the conductivity fall below 20 μS/cm after flush.
- Close the stopcocks upstream and downstream from the filters and strainers, if present.
- Replace all filters in the cooling water circuits. Clean all strainers present.
- Open the stopcocks again, if present.
- FILL tank completely to 100% tank capacity.
- Add all inhabitor from the bottles provided in water treatment kit into the water tanks and circulate the water for a few minutes.
- Check the water conductivity & ensure the following limit values:
Copper cooling circuit 200 μS/cm
Aluminum circuit 500 μS/cm
- Log the cleaning date, time & measurements.
Dosage
Read the label on Biocide & Inhabitor bottles & ensure the appropriate product & quantity in accordance of the water tank capacity. However for convenient handling the bottle caps are labelled with following colours.
Cleaning Biocide = RED
Copper corrosion control agent/ inhabitor = Yellow
Aluminum corrosion control agent/ inhabitor = Blue
Cooling water Specification
For cooling use only distilled, deionized or demineralized water with following specifications
Specific conductivity: less than 10 μS/cm; Carbonate content less than 100 mg/l
Waste Water Disposal
Water must be disposed in accordance with the local authority regulations.
Above process steps are the guideline for using the kit. The aim for the process is to maintain water conductivity at or below OEM’s specified levels for one year. Please refer the OEM’s preventive maintenance requirements for other equipment.
